STORIES OF REAL HEROES/ SOLDIERS
Books have individual benefits. Reading books helps to increase our command of the language, reading skills, comprehension, and knowledge. Today, I will recommend you few books to go through as defense aspirants. I personally have read all these books. Here, each book has its individual ISP. So, I’ll not give any rating to them.
THE BRAVE: Param Vir Chakra Story:
This book will bring you to the heart and mind of an
Indian Soldier who was awarded by the highest gallantry, Paramveer Chakra. The
soldiers’ seniors, friends, and family members helped, to write this book. You
should know about these worriers, of this book. So, please read this book at
least once.
Shoot Dive Fly:
This book was written by Rachana Bisht Rawat. He is the
same, who also wrote The Brave Paramveer Chakra Stories, 1965 stores from the
second Indo Pakistan war, Kargil Untoled stores from the war, etc… The motive
of this book is to introduce teenagers with armed forces. It is a collection of
mind-blowing 21 stories.
Born to Fly:
This is a story of flying officer Sir, M.P. Anil Kumar
who joined army school at a very early stage. Then he got admission in NDA.
After passing NDA his further flying training was completed in the airforce academy.
Then he was commissioned in the airforce flying stream. On 1984 flying officer
Anil Kumar had an accident and his entire body, except head got paralyzed. And
his age was just 24 at that time. This book describes how he continued his
journey to second life after shifting from the cockpit to a wheelchair. The
life story of Sir is very inspiring, and you may title him India’s Stefen
Hopkins after reading this book.
Life in NDA.
This book has only 14 pages, very easy to read in just
one sitting. In this book, Kurnal Vin Ahamed Shah has shared his experience in
NDA. Though you will most of the jargon in this book. But, if you still have
not started yet, you can go for this. This e-book is also available on defence
direct website for free.
Wings of Joy:
The entire story of this book revolves around one main
character, whose nickname is MAK. The author describes in detail MAK’s joining
in NDA, his experiences in NDA, the experience of airforce academy, serving in
a fighter squadron, a journey from junior pilot to an Iraqui pilot trainer
while abrogation, strategy and commanding experience of an entire frontline air
squadron. MAk was retired from India’s second-highest highest rank, Airmarshal,
and covered his full-service experience. 90 percent of this book covers his
journey from NDA to the commanding officer, then in only 10 pages commander to
commanding in chief was covered by the author. And we can understand why the
author does this.
Books belt and Baral:
This book starts from Puna railway station, where a
candidate reported on a reception. This book covers from 1st day in NDA to BOP.
This book has 4 central characters who faced difficulty during the early days
of NDA training. But, they got used to after some time. Soon they realized the
importance of punishments and tough training. This is a very rare book that
describes academic life.
On The Double:
This book is also written by the same author. And it is
an individual sequel of the books on the Barell. And if you want to experience
Indian Defence Meletery then it may be a good book for you.
India’s most fearless/ and India’s most fearless 2:
I personally like this book, it has 14 modern true
stories. This book contains the tails of real heroes, whom we recently hear on
news or read on articles. Like Lasnayak Mohan Nath Goshyami, HAwaldar Hangpang
dada, kernel Santosh Mahadikt, and many more warriors.
Maybe in the sequel, India's warrior 2 also has 14
stories collection. So they are some great books.
